Interpretation Manager (All Sites)

Salary Range: $19.81 to $27.74 per hour (Grade 19, 40 hours per week, full-time with benefits)

The Culture & Heritage Museums seeks a full time Interpretation Manager to lead a dynamic interpretation team. Duties include: delivery/teaching and evaluation of engaging interpretive experiences across the CHM system of museums including school and public programs, the scheduling and training of interpretive staff and volunteers to meet audience needs.

The successful candidate will possess a passion for interpretation first and foremost. A skilled motivator and dynamic public speaker, the incumbent will build and direct a team of interpreters that will carry us to the new museum. Strong organizational skills and ability to oversee many moving parts and coordinate ongoing projects is necessary.

Minimum requirements include: A Bachelors degree from accredited college or university is required. Master’s degree preferred. Successful prior experience as an interpreter working in an informal educational setting such as a museum, historic site, nature center, or park required. A minimum of 3-5 years supervisory experience is required. Experience managing and scheduling volunteers, seasonal and full-time and part-time employees is essential.
