If you lived here long ago, you couldn’t take your survival for granted. Today we watch TV shows about survivors in faraway, exotic places, but back then, you would be the survivor here at home. Join us and find out what it took to stay alive in the Carolina Backcountry in the 1780s and 1840s. Schedule is subject to change.

Hearth to Table
Saturday & Sunday, November 26-27, 2010
Historic Brattonsville invites you to examine the role food played in people’s lives. Travel through the 18th and 19th centuries and see how different people prepared and consumed their foods, from the earliest colonists in the 1760’s, to the slaves and wealthy planter in the 1840’s. Join us and experience the preparation, cooking and ceremony behind the food we all take for granted. Enjoy hands-on activities for the whole family.
