John S. Bratton's widow, Harriett Bratton, and her grown children were staunch supporters of the Confederacy. Come and experience the Civil War that ravaged America and tore their world apart. There will be battle reenactments (2pm), cannon-firing demonstrations, historic archery demonstrations, camp life activities, presentations, children’s military drills and more.
The Grimsly family will display their 19th century mourning artifacts in the front parlor of Hightower Hall for you to see the sobering reality of the war.
