Date: January 25, 2020
Time: 10:00 am—2:00 pm

Event Description:

This annual event highlights the rich natural history of the Carolinas and the artists that are inspired to create from their observations of nature and their imagination.

- Featuring Piedmont regional artists at work around the Museum's galleries.
- Look over an artist's shoulder as a drawing comes to life.
- Explore our new exhibit, "Science & Imagination: Bringing Fossils to Life." This exhibit showcases Winthrop University students enrolled in Professor Dave Brown's Comparative Anatomy Illustration Course. Mirroring the work of paleontologists, students used skulls, fossils and the clues they reveal to imagine and draw beasts from our Pleistocene Past.

-Bring your sketch pad and pencils and draw from the same fossil collections.
-Learn tips from Winthrop University art students and professors, Catawba River Art Guild members, Friday Arts Project artists and other local and professional artists.
- Guests 6 years and younger will use items from nature to create unique works of art.

Regular Admission: $8 Adults | $7 Seniors | $5 Youth (4-17)
Free for CHM Members and 3 and younger.
