This indoor/outdoor experience will be located on about 59 acres of land just west of the I-77 Catawba River crossing, with new public access to a mile of a free-flowing stretch of the Catawba River.
The museum will be developed in phases, beginning with a river-walk trail and outdoor pavilion to allow for programming on the property. The river-front trail will be part of the Carolina Thread Trail now being developed in 15 counties in North and South Carolina. Work on this first phase is expected to begin in early 2009.
