Rock Hill, SC- Follow the reader to Main Street Children’s Museum!  Join us one Sunday each month at 3 p.m. to celebrate the wonder of words and the power of pictures!  The new OWL (“Our Wee Literature”) Book Club is for families with children of all ages interested in sharing stories at home and learning about the author or illustrator herself.

We will suggest a book to read before our scheduled program.  During the OWL Book Club, we will talk about the “read ahead book,” listen to a featured story read by the author or illustrator, and do special activities pertaining to the book’s theme.  Don’t have the “read ahead book” at home?  The books can be found at your local library or at Main Street Children’s Museum.

Featured books will be available for sale and signing in the Museum gift shop following the program.  If you wish to purchase a book, please visit the Museum gift shop at 3:30 p.m.  This is a great way to build a very special library for a child!

Sunday, January 12th will feature York County author Ann Howie Hood and her book, Put It Back.  A former 4-K and 5-K classroom teacher, she has read to children for over 40 years.  In her book, a little boy learns about setting goals and breaking bad habits.

The “read ahead book” for the January OWL Book Club will be Sink or Swim  by Valerie Coulman, in which Ralph learns to set a goal and think positively.  Find this book at your local library or read it at Main Street Children’s Museum.  In addition to the author reading, OWL Book Club will feature dance steps and a special craft.

Free with general admission.  For registration, please call 803-327-6400.
