McCelvey Center’s Select-your-Seat Party kicks off 2020 Southern Sound Series
YORK, S.C. – Culture & Heritage Museums announces the 2020 Southern Sound Series lineup at the McCelvey Center’s Select-your-Seat Party on Oct. 3. The kick-off event is free, open to the public and offers the opportunity to become a Friend of McCelvey. Friends of McCelvey get first dibs on reserved seating and season tickets at the Select-your-Seat Party.
McCelvey Center’s 2020 Southern Sound Series is presented by Rock Hill Coca-Cola and sponsored by Founder’s Federal Credit Union and Waiter's Choice Catering & Events.
Vittles & Fiddles, a pre-show affair, returns for the 2020 Southern Sound Series beginning two hours prior to the main concert. Vittles & Fiddles features a food truck and local musicians on the McCelvey lawn. Beer and wine available for purchase.
2020 Southern Sound Series tickets become available for Friends of McCelvey at the Select-your-Seat Party on Oct. 3; no ticket sales prior to the event.
Remaining tickets for the 2020 Southern Sound Series go on sale to the public on Thursday, Oct. 31.

About the McCelvey Center’s Southern Sound Series: The McCelvey Center is the original site of the Yorkville Female Institute founded in 1852 and includes the 500-seat Lowry Family Theater. Noted for its remarkable acoustics, the historic theater has a lovely 1920s ambiance and hosts the annual Southern Sound Series. The McCelvey is a community venue managed by Culture and Heritage Museums of York County. CHM produces the annual Southern Sound Series; comprised of four concerts from January through April, the series is reserved seating only. Dedicated to providing the regional community with authentic contemporary performances, the Southern Sound Series showcases musical genres that are steeped in the multi-cultural origins of the Carolinas. The mission of the Lowry Family Theater is to present the unique heritage of the Carolina Piedmont through the performing arts while maintaining a quality venue for community enrichment.
