Mark your calendars for the third Kudzu Trail Race at Historic Brattonsville! Sponsored by Nate Mallard-The Home Team and Schiller & Hamilton law firm, the race is set for Saturday, Nov. 13.

The races offers both 5K and 8K routes that take you through the beautiful and rugged trails near Hightower Hall, (located at 1036 Brattonsville Rd., McConnells, SC). The 8K is a bit challenging and presents a few obstacles, while the 5K route is suitable for families with kids ages 8 and older. 

All registered participants 13 and older will receive a medal upon completing the course. Children ages 8 through 12 may race at no cost with a registered adult and will receive a completion button. Registered runners will start at 8:30 a.m. and children with running buddies will start at 8:35 a.m.

Runners with the best times in certain categories will receive cash prizes. 

Registration, which includes T-shirt and race bag, is $30 until Saturday, Nov. 6, and $35 thereafter. Online registration ends at midnight, Thursday, Nov. 11. Onsite race-day registration begins at 7 a.m. You will be able to see finish times and winners within an hour of last finisher. This event will take place rain or shine, and if canceled, there will be no refunds.

Friday, Nov. 12 schedule:
• 3 to 7 p.m. - Packet pick up at Museum of York County at 4621 Mt. Gallant Road, Rock Hill, SC.

Saturday, Nov. 13 schedule:
7 a.m. - Day-of registration opens
8:30 a.m. - Musket start for adults
8:35 a.m. - Musket start for kids with adults
11 a.m. - Trail closes
