Living History Saturday: Reconstruction

This Living History Saturday highlights the cultural, social, and political changes in York County during the Reconstruction Era.

Ongoing Activities:
• Historic hearth cooking with recipes from “What Mrs. Fisher Knows About Old Southern Cooking” (1881) and “Mrs. Hill’s New Cook Book” (1867)
• Federal Army camp life
• Interpretation of the “Liberty and Resistance” exhibit in the Brattonsville Store

Scheduled Activities:
• Cotton Ginning (at 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m., & 3 p.m.)
• Brattonsville Site Tour (2 p.m.)
