Independence Day at Hightower Hall

Brattonsville, SC –Historic Brattonsville and Hightower Hall invites all patriots to celebrate the Fourth of July, just as people from all walks of life did in 1854. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn how various groups of people, spanning from the social elites to the enslaved, celebrated the day.
There will be a vast array of activities ranging from dancing and music, historic games, militia muster with musket firing demonstrations, along with tours of the prestigious Hightower Hall. Guests will also be given the opportunity to hear a reading of the Declaration of Independence. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, provided by the Friends of Brattonsville.
Brattonsville features over 30 historic structures from the 1760s to the late 19th century. With over 400 acres of property visitors are encouraged to partake in the evolution of Southern architecture and culture in the South Carolina Piedmont.
Admission Cost: General Admission is $6 for adults; $5 for seniors; $4 for youth between the ages of 4 and 17; FREE for children 3 and under and for CHM members. For directions and more information, visit www.chmuseums.org.
