Meet Children’s Book Author and Illustrator Jonathan Miller at the OWL Book Club

ROCK HILL, SC – Main Street Children’s Museum rings in the new school year with the return of the OWL (Our Wee Literature) Book Club. The children’s book club celebrates the wonder of words and the power of pictures for families with children of all ages. This month’s featured book is "Sammy the Wonder Dachshund." On Sunday, September 20th at 3 p.m. the book’s author and illustrator, Jonathan Miller, will be on site to tell the story of Sammy – a small dog of super-hero proportions who engages in adventures across the planet and beyond.  Miller, a Charleston, SC area resident and Clover High School graduate, will be available for book sales and signing immediately following the program.

The OWL Book Club also has a read-ahead-book program for families. This month’s read-ahead-book is “Giraffes Can’t Dance” by Giles Andreae. During the OWL Book Club, children can talk about the stories and do book-themed activities involving movement with music and craft time in the upstairs classroom.

The next OWL Book Club will meet on Sunday, Nov. 15 with Melinda Long, author of “How I Became a Pirate” and “Pirates Don’t Change Diapers.” On Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016, the club will feature Julie Murphy, author of “What If We Were All Gray.”

Family members of all ages are welcome.  The OWL Book Club is free with general admission to Main Street Children’s Museum.  For registration, please call 803-327-6400.
