Celebrate the Fourth-of-July at Historic Brattonsville

McCONNELLS, S.C. – The living history farm at Brattonsville will be bustling in a 1850s style celebration this Independence Day. Period dressed interpreters honor our national holiday with fun activities and games planned for visitors of all ages. Historical cooking demonstrations feature an outdoor barbeque and traditional summer recipes of the Carolina Piedmont. Activities include firing demonstrations at 12:30 and 3:30 p.m., dancing at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., and the reading of the Declaration of Independence on the porch of the Col. Bratton House at noon and 3 p.m.

PW's Gourmet Ice Cream of Rock Hill will be available for purchase. Picnic baskets are welcomed.

Historic Brattonsville is a Blue Star Museum and offers free admission throughout the summer to the nation’s active-duty military personnel and their families, including National Guard and Reserve.

This year Independence Day will be celebrated at Historic Brattonsville’s main site (not Hightower Hall.)
