Memorial Day at Historic Brattonsville

Celebrate the holiday with living history

McCONNELLS, SC – Originally called Decoration Day, Memorial Day is a day to remember those who died in our nation’s service. Celebrate Memorial Day in historic style, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, May 25 at Historic Brattonsville. The site closes at 5 p.m.

Enjoy a 19th century militia muster and firearms demonstrations, children’s toys and games, a cooking demonstration in the Brick Kitchen and tours of the Bratton Homestead. Children’s military drills will be at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

FREE with general admission: Adults, $6; Seniors, $5; Youth ages 4-17, $3; members and children 3 and younger admitted free.

The Culture & Heritage Museums are managed by the York County Culture and Heritage Commission (CHC), chartered in 1997 by the York County, South Carolina, Council. The Culture and Heritage Foundation supports the CHC, its museums and the future museum being developed on the Catawba River at I-77.
