Keepers of the Culture nominations being sought

Award recognizes those who preserve our heritage

ROCK HILL, SC – The Culture & Heritage Museums seeks nominations for the annual Keepers of the Culture awards through June 26.

Keepers of the Culture awards honor recipients for their commitment to keeping, communicating and connecting our cultural, historical and natural heritage through activities such as, but not limited to, teaching, research, scholarship, publishing, volunteerism, activism, advocacy, patronage, craftsmanship, visual/performing/literary arts, conservation and preservation.

Winners will be chosen by a committee comprised of members of Culture & Heritage Museums staff and community representatives and will be honored at a ceremony November 10. Recipients must live in the greater York County region.

The Culture & Heritage Museums are managed by the York County Culture and Heritage Commission (CHC), chartered in 1997 by the York County, South Carolina, Council. The Culture and Heritage Foundation supports the CHC, its museums and the future museum being developed on the Catawba River at I-77.
