Kid-friendly theater at the McCelvey Center

Family favorites “Mike Mulligan” and “New Kid”

YORK, SC – Introduce children to the joy of live theater as Mike Mulligan and Nick the New Kid come to the McCelvey Center in York.

Times have changed and newer, fancier shovels threaten the usefulness of Mike Mulligan and his beloved steam shovel, Mary Anne. Their final hope could be the little town of Poppersville, which needs a basement dug for its new City Hall. Recommended for ages 3-7; shows are at 9:30 and 11 a.m. Thursday, March 11.

Has someone in your family ever felt different or out of place? Follow Nick as he leaves the fictitious country of Homeland and comes to America with his parents. Recommended for ages 8-14; shows are at 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 25.

Programming at the McCelvey Center is made possible in part by the Friends of McCelvey and by the South Carolina Arts Commission which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Arts in Education programs are made possible in part by a grant from Target.
