Join us for Children’s Day on the Farm. This year in honor of the 250th anniversary of the beginning of the American Revolution (April 19, 1775), we will be focusing on children’s life, work, and play in the 18th century.
On-Going Activities:
• Military camp cooking—hands-on activity
• Writing with quill pens—hands-on/make-and-take activity
• Blacksmithing demonstration
• Woodworking—hands-on activity
• 18th century toys and games—hands-on activity
• Visit a militia camp—hands-on activity
• 18th century laundry—hands-on activity
Scheduled Activities:
• Children’s militia drills (10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., & 3:30 p.m.)
• “Walking in Watt’s Shoes” tour of the Huck’s Defeat Battlefield (10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m., & 3p.m.)
