Celebrating Local Heroes at Community Heroes Day
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Honor our local everyday heroes who keep our community safe at Community Heroes Day on Thurs. Feb. 20 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Museum of York County.
In partnership with Main Street Children’s Museum, this program helps inspire children to discover how they can be heroes for their community. Local heroes, including firefighters and police officers will be at the museum to talk to and read to kids. Visitors will also have a chance to design appreciation cards and make their own firefighter and police headbands. Emergency vehicles will be out in the parking lot for kids to see and climb inside!
Main Street Children’s Museum teams up with Museum of York County for this popular annual event hosted at Museum of York County.

About Main Street Children’s Museum:
Serving young children up to age six, Main Street Children’s Museum is a storybook-come-to-life playscape. Special programs focusing on literacy, movement, music, art, and STEM aim to prepare young learners and their caregivers for the future. The 4,420-square-foot playscape is located in the heart of downtown Rock Hill in the People’s Bank Building, which was built in 1910 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The imaginative setting was modeled after the artwork of Vernon Grant, renown illustrator of Kellogg’s iconic characters – Snap, Crackle and Pop.
