Exploring the Cosmos Astronomy Series
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Astronomy has captivated humanity for as long as we have gazed at the night sky. Explore the wonders of the universe in a three-part astronomy series led by Museum of York County’s Planetarium Manager.
The series begins with a deep dive into our Solar System and its planets and moons. The second class delves into astrobiology, the science behind the search for life beyond Earth, and what conditions might make other worlds habitable and the series concludes with an exploration of cosmology – the study of the universe, how it began, evolves, and how it might end.
This seminar series is designed for ages 12 and up and class sessions will take place monthly Feb. through April. Attendees are welcome to attend a planetarium show after class in the full-dome Settlemyre Planetarium. Museum of York County holds annual seminar series on diverse topics.
