Pots and Blooms – A Springtime Topiary Workshop

This workshop is best suited for ages 12 & up.

Join us for a fresh flower topiary workshop, the perfect way to welcome spring! CHM members and their guests are invited to this hands-on event. Learn expert techniques for working with moss to create lush, natural-looking plantscapes, shaping flowers for a topiary look, and transforming terra cotta pots into showstoppers. Enjoy inspiration from our gorgeous springtime tablescape and take home your own beautiful creation. Bring a friend and make unforgettable memories together. Also, be sure to bring scissors or your garden shears; all other materials are provided. Light refreshments will be served. Don’t miss out! Spaces are limited.

Do you think you would learn most from art, mystery, or occupation? Join us to explore how children were educated in the 18th and 19th century Carolina Piedmont. From the schoolroom and the barnyard to the trade shop and the hearth, this event will center on the arts, mysteries, and occupations that taught children about their world.

On-going Activities
• The Arts: Cooking & Candle-Dipping
• The Mysteries: Meet the Naturalist with Dr. Steve Fields & Toys and Games
• The Occupations: Writing with Quill Pens, 18th Century Blacksmithing, 18th Century “Mantua-Making” (ladies’ dressmaking), and “Animal Husbandry”

• Brattonsville site tours (11 a.m., 1 p.m., & 3 p.m.)

Easter Eggstravaganza

A certain bunny has paid us a visit, and he left something behind for all of our friends! Can you help us find the eggs? After the egg hunt, be sure to make a fun Easter craft to take home. The egg hunt will take place from 10 – 11 a.m, with the craft staying open until Noon. We hope you’ll join us for an eggscelent time.
