Pots and Blooms – A Springtime Topiary Workshop

April 19 | 2 – 4 p.m. | Member Exclusive

This workshop is best suited for ages 12 & up.

Join us for a fresh flower topiary workshop, the perfect way to welcome spring! CHM members and their guests are invited to this hands-on event. Learn expert techniques for working with moss to create lush, natural-looking plantscapes, shaping flowers for a topiary look, and transforming terra cotta pots into showstoppers. Enjoy inspiration from our gorgeous springtime tablescape and take home your own beautiful creation. Bring a friend and make unforgettable memories together. Also, be sure to bring scissors or your garden shears; all other materials are provided. Light refreshments will be served. Don’t miss out! Spaces are limited.

Sheep Shearing Saturday

at Historic Brattonsville

Join us for this Living History Saturday focusing on Sheep Shearing! We will explore the different steps involved in the process of turning sheep’s wool into finished textiles for clothing and household goods!

On-going activities will include carding and spinning, weaving and tape-weaving, and
natural dyeing. Sheep shearing demonstrations will occur at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Join us as we sing songs, play instruments, watch a felt-play, read a story, and make a craft. Each week has a different story and craft, centered on a monthly theme.March’s theme is “Spring has Sprung.” This week’s book is “When Spring Comes” with a bug craft.

Letter of the Week

Join us each Thursday to learn your letters through letter songs and practice identifying things that start with this week’s letter. Afterwards, make sure to search the museum for the missing letters, if you can find it bring it to an educator to earn a sticker! This week’s letters are “X, Y, and Z.”
